How we ensure information security
We use appropriate data collection, storage, and processing practices, as well as security measures, to prevent unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction of your personal information, username, password, transaction information, and data stored on our Site.
All data exchanges between the Site and its users occur over a secure SSL communication channel and are encrypted with digital signatures.
All payments collected through PayPal use secure SSL communications. After the transaction is complete, your private information (credit card information) will not be stored on our servers.
Sharing your personal information
We do not sell, trade, or rent users' personal information to others.
We share your information with civil society organizations to which you have donated or applied for volunteering opportunities.
We may share non-personal demographic information not associated with personal identification regarding visitors and users with our business partners, trusted affiliates, and advertisers for the purposes outlined above. We may use third-party service providers to assist us in operating the Site, managing our activities, or servicing users, and we may share your information with these third parties for those limited purposes.
Donation Process
- For donations made to Abilitypool, we work with reputable civil society organizations that are subject to annual audits by law.
- To earn the trust of donors, Abilitypool works with volunteer auditors to provide transparency on how donated funds are spent on projects.
- Project auditors work in reputable audit firms and volunteer for their roles.
- These individuals do not receive any fees from civil society organizations or Abilitypool. Their role is to support Abilitypool in instilling trust in donors through voluntary assistance.
- The publication of a project indicates that an auditor has been assigned to the project by a civil society organization and has agreed to monitor the spending of donations on that project. At this stage, it is not a statement of authenticity or healthy funding sources.
- Once a project has ended and donations have been spent, the civil society organization provides various documents to the auditor.
- Based on these documents and other communications with the auditor and the civil society organization, the auditor changes the status on the Abilitypool website to "reviewed."
Payments
The website allows users to make donations. The website does not directly receive payments related to these donations. It forwards these payments to a secure third-party payment system that completes all steps of the payment process.
Although Abilitypool works with a voluntary auditor in line with its transparency policy, it cannot be held responsible for any delays or issues that may arise in money transfers. Any issues or disputes regarding payments should be resolved directly with the payment system.
Volunteering
Since volunteers work directly with civil society organizations,
there is no employment relationship established between volunteers and AbilityPool under Labor Law or Turkish Code of Obligations. Therefore, Abilitypool cannot be held responsible for any damages incurred by volunteers or any claims based on service contracts.
Abilitypool is not responsible for damages that civil society organizations may suffer as a result of the activities of its volunteers.
Abilitypool cannot be held responsible for commitments regarding the actions and transactions of users or civil society organizations, and their consequences.
Civil society organizations that publish volunteer opportunities through Abilitypool are responsible for the content they publish.
